photo journal no 17: the meadow allotment

On a rainy and quiet dark day around midsummer I revisited this allotment made into a meadow. So beautiful. I had happened to pass it a few days earlier on a sunny day but with no camera. Now the weather was changing to rainy and windy and I wanted to shoot some photos before the meadow lost it’s flowers in the wind and rain. It started raining just when I got there and I got som photos just in time. I love that the owner uses the whole of the allotment as a meadow with different flowers. Nothing else, not even a place to sit. But lovely with the blue and pink flowers. I will go back this summer to see if the owner is there and if the flowering changes during the summer. So hopefully to be continued…

Photo journal no 11: Crete

Almost exactly a year ago I traveled to the Greek island of Crete with a team of very talented and creative women. During a week we produced a cookbook with food cooked by the loveliest Cretan women. (More about the book in an earlier post, go here.) I shot lots and lots and many of the photos are printed in the book. I’ve looked through all images I shot again. Somehow my mind brings back strong memories of a trip a year later. Usually also only the good parts, making me want to go again. Trips are usually mostly good and so was this one. I’ve chosen some new images and edited them to reflect what my feeling of this trip is now a year later. (Some of the photos from Crete are already in my printshop, see a post about that here.) Photo Journal no 6: the studio

We have the studio of our dreams. This will be our last studio, it is where we will stay.

Continue reading
