Photo journal no 13: winter by the lake

I’m lucky to live close to a lake surrounded by beautiful nature. I take lots of walks and lots of photos here. A great thing about photographing nature (apart from it being so beautiful) is that it changes what it looks like all the time. The same tree, lake, shrubbery look different depending on light, season, time of day, snow, dry or wet, close up or far away and so many other things. So there are endless of images to make from the same place in nature if you’d be happy to stay in one place. All images in this post are taken around the lake close to my home in the winter. This is not what winter looks like right now. At this moment winter is warm and only brown and grey no white, which is of course also beautiful. I will show the brown and grey nature by the lake another day. These winter images are all now in my print shop. All images are linked to the shop or go here. Please take a look!

Photo journal no 12: Copenhagen in autumn

Autumn in Copenhagen. Beautiful sunny days and cold windy ones. All images apart from the first one is from the area in Copenhagen called Christianhavn. Copenhagen is wonderful in all kinds of weather and the first image is shot on Gothersgade.

Photo journal no 11: Crete

Almost exactly a year ago I traveled to the Greek island of Crete with a team of very talented and creative women. During a week we produced a cookbook with food cooked by the loveliest Cretan women. (More about the book in an earlier post, go here.) I shot lots and lots and many of the photos are printed in the book. I’ve looked through all images I shot again. Somehow my mind brings back strong memories of a trip a year later. Usually also only the good parts, making me want to go again. Trips are usually mostly good and so was this one. I’ve chosen some new images and edited them to reflect what my feeling of this trip is now a year later. (Some of the photos from Crete are already in my printshop, see a post about that here.)

Photojournal no 10: Allotments in a hidden valley

photo journal no 8: copenhagen peonies

This is soon what you will find in the Botanical Garden i Copenhagen. I shot these on a visit last May and from today quiet a few of them are available as PRINTS in my print shop. Most of the images are of the Tree Peony. Bushes full of beautiful big flowers that come in different colors. Link to my print shop here and if you click on the shop sign to the right.

photo journal no 7: in the cactus greenhouse

A late winter visit with a feeling of spring to the Cactus Greenhouse in the Uppsala Botanical Gardens, a part of Uppsala University. Located in a beautiful building built in the 18th century in the even older botanical gardens. Read more on their website about the garden and all the famous people that worked and studied here like Carl von Linné (Carl Linnaeus). https://www.botan.uu.se

Photo Journal no 6: the studio

We have the studio of our dreams. This will be our last studio, it is where we will stay.

Photo journal no 5: early summer in Copenhagen

I visited Copenhagen a few days last week. I ended up spending many hours in the Botanical Gardens again. This time very warm and so much in bloom. The peonies, the rhododendrons, azaleas, wisteria and so much more about to bloom. What a peaceful, beautiful place in the middle of the otherwise busy Copenhagen.

Photo journal no 4: more of Paris in the spring

More of spring in Paris. A lot of green water in the Seine, magnolias in bloom, pink buildings, magnolias in bloom in front of pink buildings, coffee at a café, view of the Eiffel tower, sun on a burgundy red door, Montmartre, random lovely buildings. Spring light.
