Photo Journal no 6: the studio

We have the studio of our dreams. This will be our last studio, it is where we will stay.

Continue reading

my office space in the studio

This is my office space in the studio, located in Uppsala, Sweden. I recently painted the wall behind the desk green. The desk is actually my mother-in-law’s, bought new in the seventies by her and my father-in-law. She has no space for it since she moved and it looks really good in my studio. I love the soft green color on the wall and how it works with my nature and flower art prints. I also love the seventies chair and the old concrete floor and the old radiator and the beautiful window. Having my nature prints around me like this when I work makes me see what the next step in my work process is. Take a look into my shop to see all images and all the new ones. https://ulrikaekblomphoto.patternbyetsy.com Continue reading

Food Pharmacy kokboken

One year ago the first Food Pharmacy book was published. It turned out to be very popular and has been translated into 10 different languages, which means it’s available in even more countries. So we made another one called Food Pharmacy Kokboken (the cookbook). This book is about even more recipes for good intestinal flora, good bacteria and anti-inflammatory food. Great team with Mia Clase, Lina Nertby Aurell, Anna Lindelöw, Therese Elgquist and Linnéa von Zweigbergk and Cecilia Viklund from Bonnier Fakta. Continue reading

Next up is summer lunches in the shade for Elle mat och vin

This is my dream of summer. A summer when you sit in the shade drinking wine eating lovely meals that are so easy to make and so good to eat. In real life there are numerous meals to plan and cook when school is out so these images are more of a dream than reality. But once in a while it does happen. Continue reading

new work in many different magazines – first out Swedish Crayfish Feast for Lantliv

It has been an unusually long summer and unusually many lazy days (probably too many) for me and my family. Three weeks in Italy, a few weeks on the Swedish island of Gotland and a few weeks of not doing anything at home. Today is the first day of school after summer for my children. So I start working again. I have lots of fun projects and assignments for the end of summer and beginning of autumn. But first I want to show you some of my work that has been published over the summer. The first one is for the Swedish magazine Lantliv. Helena Larsson was the recipe developer and stylist. The story was shot close to her home a very lovely evening last summer in Småland in the southern part of Sweden. Continue reading

Cookbook with Ernst Kirchsteiger

I spend a big portion of my working time making cookbooks, which I love. Here is yet another one that was recently published. I’ve been working on this one for the last year. It’s with the, in Sweden, very popular Ernst Kirchsteiger. On the team was also Linda Berlin, prop stylist and Kristina Valentin, recipe tester and cook. The book is published by Bonnier Fakta. I mostly enjoyed shooting this book on location. Spending a few days in a part of Sweden where I ever hardly go, Värmland. By dark lakes, and blue forests in an old spooky mansion. A little scary but with beautiful places to shoot. Here are a few of my favorite images. Continue reading

Proud to be a part of this new cookbook: Till Bords med Systrarna Eisenman.

Yesterday I finally received my first copy of the Swedish cookbook Till Bords med Systrarna Eisenman by Lisa Eisenman Frisk and Monica Eisenman. I took the photos. I started working on the book about a year ago and finally it’s here. It’s about gathering family and friends around the table, being and eating together. It covers both winter and summer so we have shot a lot outside for the summer and a little bit for the winter when we were lucky to have snow. I especially enjoyed taking all the photos of people for this book and of course working with Monica and Lisa again. Continue reading
